The Media Educators for Excellence Team hosted the Puget Sound All Girls Film Screening and Networking event on Saturday, March 25th. This transformative event is the highlight of the year for hundreds of girls around the Puget Sound.

Keynote Presentation: The Therapeutic Power of Film
Lindy Boustedt is an award-winning writer, director, and producer. She runs SHARE: Screenwriting for Healing, self-Actualization, Redemption and Empathy, a storytelling education program for incarcerated women and youth. We will be screening "Walk One Mile" created by students at Echo Glen High School, a juvenile detention facility in King County, WA. Poem written by student at Echo Glen as part of the Pongo Poetry Project with voiceover performed by students at Mount Si High School's Digital Media Academy. https://youtu.be/XnEBtiq0qrk
Puget Sound All Girls Film Festival Screening
We will be featuring a screening of the Awards of Excellence followed by a professional critique and student filmmaker panel. Congratulations to the following student filmmakers for their outstanding work this year!
- Koke Or Shmepsi by Cypress McDonald from Seattle Academy (Cypress earned this honor last year as well!)

National Film Festival for Talented Youth: Featured Filmmaker
Neeraja Raj is a director, animator and writer. She graduated NFTS doing her MA in Directing Animation. Her B.Des. in Animation was received from the National Institute of Design in India. She completed a 6-month animation apprenticeship with The Walt Disney Company India in 2016. She worked as a stop-motion animator for Guardians Evolution Season 3, a Canadian sci-fi show airing on ATPN network in 2017. In 2017 and 2011, she was the first-place winner in Emirates Airlines International Festival of Literature and her co-authored book was published by a leading publisher in the United Arab Emirates. Her
2016 graduation film called Stars went on to be screened at many festivals over the world. Neeraja was recently featured in Forbes 30 under 30 list and is currently working on the Animated International Women's Day Film Project.
