Nikeesha Gooding graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 2015, having compiled over 40 hours of video work for the local channel (Wildcat TV) and gaining much of her knowledge in filmography and broadcasting throughout her high school career. She now attends the University of Washington, pursuing Cinema and Media Studies and a highly individualized degree in the Comparative History of Ideas program, where her thesis will revolve around the ways in which media and society interact and inform one another--especially through representation of marginalized people. She currently works as a photojournalist at the college's paper, The Daily, as well as a photographer for the school's student union building, and is a passionate cinephile who loves to over-analyze the many films she watches on a day-to-day basis. In the future, she hopes to pave her way into media as broadly as she can, as a creator or as a critic, and lessen the divide of representation and reality in popular media platforms
